Maybe I'll try a registry cleaner and wipe all remnants of Insite and try another install.Cummins Insite Engine Diagnostic Software ProĬummins INSITE version 8 is a PC-based software application that provides quick and easy access to your engine’s electronic performance information. I went back to the Cummins site and downloaded Update Manager 4 and got the same results so it's not the install program. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with being an administrator. I went into the windows services and still couldn't manually start the service.

I thought it may have been a windows program causing it but I shut down all the protection stuff and the service still can't be started. Tries to start the service then stops when the service fails to start. I'm not sure which registry entries would prevent the update service from starting. That's what I noticed before finding out I had to downgrade back to 7.3 on a different laptop. The update manager will delete the keys when updating from an early version to something like 7.5.

I do like getting the weekly updates but could just as easily use Insite without them. I use a Movimento datalink at work and a higher version than 7.3 doesn't like the Movimento.
